Frequently Asked Questions

Overview

With over 700 players participating each season, our recreational program is affiliated with CAYSA (Capital Area Youth Sports Association), South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA), and United States Youth Soccer (USYSA).

We have two seasons a year, one in the fall that typically runs from September through November, and our spring season which generally starts in late February and finishes in early May. Our recreational leagues are for ages 3-16, although the number of registrants can dictate our ability to create a team in each age group.

As for practices and games, for our little ones in U4 and U5, we combine a practice and game into a 1hr time slot on Saturday mornings.  For all other ages, we generally have one practice during the week and one game on the weekend.  U11 and above travel for approximately half of their games and participate in CAYSA D3. At the conclusion of each season, we’ll host playoffs for the U9 /10 division. For U11 and above teams who rank in their brackets may be invited to the fall CAYSA tournament.

Shorts, socks, shoes and other gear should be provided by the parent.  A great way to minimize your registration cost is to volunteer.  You can earn $50 refund for volunteering on a variety of activities including coaching!  Coach assignments, practice days/times, team setups, or other details will be provided closer to the start of each season.  For any other info, please contact soccer@dsysa.org.  Get your boots on and we’ll see you on the fields!
