Our Cheerleading program provides the athlete with basic fundamentals of cheerleading, to get exercise, gain new life skills, and most importantly, have fun. They will learn body placement, cheers, chants, jumps and stunts in a team setting. Cheer relies heavily on memorization and lots of spirit! DSYSA Cheer wants each athlete to leave the season with more confidence and a better understanding of a football game. We offer two levels of cheer, recreational & competition with a sideline experience. Recreational cheer follows our flag football & Neighborhood Sports program with a sideline experience only. Our Pre-Comp Cheer program will be limited in registration numbers, and will follow DSYSA Tackle Football in the fall, and also perform at our Local Showcase in October. Our competition cheer program will attend 2-3 competitions in the fall under the Pop Warner Little Scholars association, and will also follow a tackle football team for sideline cheer. Our DSYSA Cheer program is a completely volunteer run organization that relies on parents & adults to continue leading and improving the program, we hope you will have some patience with us as we learn and grow this year.
Thank you for your consideration to be a part of our Cheer Family.

Each sport has had to adapt and re-adapt the playing season(s) in light of the coronavirus. Each sport has specific Return To Play Guidelines detailing the safety protocols and expectations of players and participants. At this time, we are confident that cheer will continue to run as scheduled. If there are changes for our season, such as changes in season dates, a shorter playing season or cancellation, the Cheer Board will address those as they arise and you will be communicated with as decisions are made and policies are adopted.
Our cheer program follow policies implemented by the DSYSA Umbrella Board and our partnering organizations (Pop Warner and Neighborhood Sports). DSYSA is currently following COVID-19 recommendations and protocols adopted by our Dripping Springs Independent School District. Other influencing and governing agencies making recommendations and mandates are Hays County, Governor Gregg Abbott, and the Center for Disease Control.
