Become a Coach

Thank you!

First, we want to say thank you for volunteering your time to become an influential part our childrens' lives. You are not just developing athletes, you are creating better members of our community through life lessons. We appreciate you!

Coach Registration and Background Checks (non-soccer)

Once you have been approved as a coach by your sport's league board, you will need to register as a coach through Sport Engine and submit your background check. Background checks are mandatory and required every year.

Once you have completed your registration and rosters have been created, your registrar will give you access to your team portal in Sports Engine.

*Soccer Coaches please register here instead for US Youth Soccer background check.

Mandatory Concussion Training

To continue to put our children's safety first, DSYSA has recently adopted a new policy requiring all DSYSA coaches to complete the CDC Heads Up Concussion training prior to conducting their first practice.

  1. Follow this link to the Coach section of the CDC Heads Up Training http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/coach.htm Here you will find a link to the course, as well as, additional valuable tools.
  2.  Under the Free Concussion Training Course click the Heads Up square/icon to take you to the course. The training course will take you 20-30 minutes to complete.
  3. Once you have completed the course please save an electronic copy of your certificate. You will be required to upload it when you register as a coach.
  4. We recommend each coach prints multiple copies of the attached DSYSA Concussion Fact Sheet for Parents to give to parents in the event of a possible concussion during practice or competition.
  5. Certifications are valid one full year and coaches only need to take the training once a year.

The Registration "Become a Coach" is not currently available.
